library

The library contains boards:

  1. “Gustaw Vasa 500 years – descendants of Gustaw Vasa”. A plaque written on the 500th anniversary of the election of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden. It is the history of family connections from Gustav Vasa to the current royal courts in Europe. The two sword lines became extinct in the 17th century. The Swedish one ended with the abdication of Queen Christina and the Polish one after the abdication of John Casimir. The board describes family relationships descending from Gustaw Waza’s two daughters and granddaughter.
  2. “Gustav Vasa – Carl XVI Gustaf”. The board consists of two parts. The first one presents all the kings of Sweden from Gustav Vasa to Carl XVI Gustaf. The second part describes the history of the kings on the throne of Sweden through connections with European courts.
  3. “Bernadotte – 200 years of the Dynasty”. A board presenting the history of the Benadotte dynasty in connection with European courts.
  4. “Bernadotte – Sweden, Europe” – a two-part Tablet presenting in the first part the kings and queens of Sweden from the Bernadotte dynasty. The second is the story of the Dynasty, which is an illustration to Herman Lindqvist’s book “Bernadotte 200 år”.
  5. “Charles III – Athelstan, Mieszko I”. A board describing the thousand-year history of the English court and, from the 17th century, the British court. From Athelstan through William the Conqueror to Charles III. At the same time, the history of the kings and princes ruling Poland is conducted, showing family relations with the English and British courts.

In preparation:

  1. “Julia Hauke Battenberg”. The history of the family relations of the descendants of a Polish countess and Prince Alexander of Hesse as a result of their escape from the tsar’s court and their morganatic wedding.
  2. “Maria Krasińska and Charles XV”. A board describing the history of the relationship of Zygmunt Krasiński’s daughter, Maria Beatrice, with the king of Spain and Italy. These relationships were of key importance in the planned marriage of the countess with the King of Sweden, Charles XV.
  3. “Maria Leszczynska and Louis XV”. A plaque describing the history of the descendants of the Polish king’s daughter, Maria Leszczyńska, with the French king, Louis XV.
  4. Tables whose topics will be the result of correspondence between the readers of the Tables and their author.

People come and go. Some are forgotten and others are remembered. Over time, the memory of the latter also fades. Some leave permanent traces of their existence. What remains behind them are memories, books, sometimes gratitude and monuments. But living memory is not books that no one reaches for. These are the ones that are read.

In 2014, the Vasa Table, made on the 490th anniversary of the election of Gustav Vasa as King of Sweden, was granted the right to be registered under number 20691 as an industrial design in the Polish Patent Office.
